Nunavut Development Corporation

About

The Nunavut Development Corporation has a mandate to work with businesses and governments in Nunavut. Tasked with updating the NDC brand to better reflect their values and the key triggers for their audience, we were able to develop a concept that reflected the NDC brand and could be extended across a wide range of media and collateral.

Role

The NDC brand has been developed into a full visual identity with customized corporate materials, that are used on all of the organization’s materials; ranging from annual reports to pamphlets. The resulting work better reflects NDC and the work they represent. This is a direct example of modernizing a brand that has many stakeholders and a complex organizational
infrastructure.

Successes

NDC has been a long-time client, working with us since 2001. A particularly memorable project was the Vancouver Olympics (VANOC) Inukshuk collaboration. This project involved coordinating many artists across Nunavut to create regional carvings of Inukshuks that were packaged and sold during the Vancouver Olympics. We worked closely with VANOC’s brand team to create custom packaging and design.

NDC’s marketing budget was limited and there was no latitude for mistakes. They are a small yet complex crown corporation of the Government of Nunavut. Each component of the organization has very different marketing and promotional needs and therefore the medium and the message of the overall brand have to be consistent and correct.

Conclusions

NDC’s a small yet complex crown corporation of the Government of Nunavut. Each component of the organization has very different marketing and promotional needs and therefore the medium and the message of the overall brand have to be consistent and correct.
